customize export format drop down list

Hi All,
Is there any way to customize export format drop down list?
I do not want so many export formats,I just want these 3 [PDF, Excel,
tif]
option to apear in the dropdown.

Services\ReportServer\rsreportserver.config file. Go to the <Render> section
and set the types as Visible="false" for the ones you want to hide.

Custom Transformation Component tutorial

Hi all,

Is there any tutorial to learn how custom transformation component works? maybe a blog, pdf or something...

Specifically, i need to learn how to generate an output column composed from 3 input columns. The problem is i dont know how to set the column value... anyone have some sample code?

I don't think there is any one source. Books Online has some very good topics on this. Make sure you have the latest version Feb 2007, not just the one which came with the original media.

The MS downloads site has some good samples too, just search for SSIS on there. The samples cover lots of functions and build on each other, even when non functional as they stand.

I need this new calculated output column as well as the same 3 columns that were the input of the component.

I have been trying my self using msdn, the problem is that , either i get the new column or the three ones, not these 4 columns i need...

How can i link the inputs of the "custom transformation component" to its outputs in order to use this data in next step?

It's possible to mix this kind of outputs with other outputs generated by the objects?

I do not really understand the question. Link inputs, why? Do you have multiple inputs? Do you mean an input or an input column?

You can "link" the input to the output via the SynchronousInputID property of the output makes a synchronous component.

Synchronous vs asynchronous is explained in Books Online.

If you have a synchronous component (make sure you know what that mean, see BOL), then an input column is always an "output" column, but it does not appear in the columns collection of the output itself. You can change data and it is available to downstream components.

Custom Properties and PDF Properties

We need to generate PDF files as our end point. These files must contain
'custom properties' (such as Author, Title, 'What Have You') which will be
used to index the documents for searches. We will generate our reports
using Reporting Services and then 'export' them to PDF format. We are not
sure that
Reporting Services "CustomProperties" will work to achive this goal. We
also have seen no working code examples of "CustomProperties". Do anyone

Based on my scope, "CustomProperties" of pdf is not supported for pdf
rendering extention. Customproperties settings in SRS are used when
processing custom report item control. You may want to click "send

I have a requirement to add a custom button to an ASPX 'View PDF'. When the
user clicks this button a specific SSRS report will be returned (Open/Save)
as a pdf. I need to be able to do this without using the MS Sample Report
Viewer control (which has the 'Select a format, Export' option just like in
Report Manager).
From what I have read there may be a call that can be made to the RS Web
Service, is this true and if so, is this the only way to accomplish a PDF
export.

of buttons on my asps, that allow the user to output directly to XL, PDF or
the standard RS report page, by using the following::

Custom code executed when user exports to PDF

Hi,

Is there a way to execute custom code when a user exports a report to PDF? I have an assembly that writes the pages numbers to a database table in order to create a Table of contents. This works great except that the code is called when the report is initially created so the page numbers are written to the database. Then when the user clicks to export to PDF, the PDF page numbers (the ones I want to keep) are written to the database and conflict with the first set of page numbers. Is there any way that I can only call the custom assembly with the export to pdf option is chosen? Or execute code that will truncate the table before exporting to PDF?

Any suggestions?

Chosen from where? If this is a custom application and use the ReportViewer controls, you could sink the ReportExport event. You can always call a stored procedure that preps the database too.
