level - these are the DBA's customers. Every person that
receives a printed report that comes from that server. I
cannot really think of a person in an organization that
is outside the scope of the DBA.
The DBA's job is all encompassing - making indexes to
speed up queries - handling access (restrictions, rights,
etc). Envisioning a backup plan that will keep the
business running at all times. Security - physical and
logical...
I'm an application developer and my clients always expect
me to be the DBA - that is wrong. I've got one client
that pays me an annual fee for this service - that's
right. The responsibility that comes with being a DBA
are huge.
