Is this only a feature of RS 2005?Hi Dave,
Welcome to MSDN newsgroup.
AS for the Reporting Servcie custom secuirty, I'm not quite sure on what
the security you mean. Do you mean using the Forms Authentidation in
Reporiting service or mean changing the Reporting servcie server
application's .NET CODE access security?
For both of them (using FormsAuthentication or customizing the report
server application's CAS policy) , they're availble in RS 2000 and RS 2005.
Please feel free to post here if I missed anything...
Thanks,
Steven Cheng

||||Thansk Steven,
We now use a 3rd party product for Intranet web access security, rather than
Domain type security. So I was looking at help files on a 2005 server and
found a thread and example about Custom Security, but couldn't find the same
thing in 2000.
I'll check the CAS stuf out, I'm probably missing somethign..

If so, I think the one you're looking for is the using forms authentication
in Reporting Service, this is also available in reporting service 2000,
here is a msdn article discussing on this:
#Using Forms Authentication in Reporting Services
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/?url=/library/en-us/dnsql2k/html/ufairs.as
p?frame=true#ufairs_topic3
the CAS is another thing which related to the .NET's code access security,
for your scenario I don't think it'll quite address the problem.
Thanks,
Steven Cheng
