Customize Report Parameter Properties

Is it possible to modify the XML code at runtime? I want to control the
report parameter properties multi-value setting of True/False during runtime
in the XML behind the RDL file. Set it to True if I want the parameters to be
multi-value or False for single-value. This is determined based on the value
selected in parameter one. Parameter one and two are City,State.
If City is selected in parameter one then I want Parameter two to be a
single-valued list, if State is chosen in Parameter One then I want the list
in Parameter two to be a multi-valued select list.
Any ideas or guidance would be appreciated.No, this is not possible.

>|||It is a nice concept but this is not an area you have control over if you
are using the portal (report manager) that ships with Reporting Services. If
you want to create your own web page and then integrate with RS using either
web services or url integration this is certainly possible. RS 2005 ships
with a webform and a winform control for integrating RS reports into your
applications.

>|||Well, the only way you could do this is to have a report that just has
links. You would need to have your own website. Usually people either use
Report Manager or provide their own front end via their own application.

customization of browser setting in reporting services 2000

Hi
I want to know how can i customize browser setting in Reporting
services 2000.I wish to show name of my report on browser.I don`t want
to show it as Report parameter.It should be text , just name of the
report.How is this feasible? can it be done by changing report
container, if yes than how?

name of the report.

Custom report item

How would one go about setting the height of a custom report item programmatically?

I have a custom report item that renders back an image of indeterminate height. I cannot simply set RenderItem.Sizing = Image.Sizings.AutoSize; As the image is being rendered back at 300 dpi and will require being set to FitProportional. Therefore I need to set the height to a scale height. I've tried setting CRI.Height to a ReportSize value, but it tells me that I cannot because of the current state of the item.

I have also tried setting the Width and Height of the Microsoft.ReportingServices.ReportRendering.Image to the needed values, but that appears to be completely ignored when the report is generated.

custom Discretization patterns

I have a problem with setting a reasonable Discretization pattern on some dimensions.

One of my dimensions has int numbers scattered from 400 to 900. another dimension has float numbers from 0 to 100, however Automatic discretization does not create even ranges for example 0-100,100-200,etc nor 0-10, 10-20, etc. I tried setting DiscretizationBucketCounts to 10,20,100 etc, however, AS does not create rounded bounds for the buckets.

Since the analisys applications are mostly for use by humans, it would make sense to add support for human-readable discretization, like is done in Excel Charts, etc.

Is there a way to setup my own discretization pattern (other than changing the data view to Query with a bunch of Case statements?) ?

From the ASSL documentation in SQL Server 2005 BOL, it looks like an "EqualRanges" discretization method was envisaged, which might have met your needs. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to have been implemented (as of SP1), at least for DimensionAttribute:

they all seem to group members on odd intervals, like 12.3-13.5, 13.5-14.6, etc.
